Which hidden ingredients disqualify a vegan food claim?
The usual suspects are processing aids that never reach the label. Gelatin or isinglass clarification in juices and beer, casein fining in wine, whey-based carriers in flavors, and insect-derived colors such as carmine. Supplier declarations settle each one — the vegan pillar’s failure table names them all.
Do we need to certify every product at once?
No — you define the scope, and you can add products within it mid-year. The annual fee covers unlimited SKUs inside the certified scope. New products outside that scope are a scope extension, quoted at application like everything else.
Can co-packed products be certified?
Yes, when the co-packer’s controls are documented. We review cross-contact controls on shared lines as part of the review and ask the co-packer for the same supplier declarations. Many SME applicants are fully co-packed; it changes the document list, not eligibility.
How do buyers check our certificate?
They scan the QR code, or type the certificate number — no account needed. The answer comes back from V-Cert’s certificate portal for that number alone, current status included, so a distributor settles the question without emailing you or us.
