V-CERT
About V-Cert

The team behind the marks.

Every label claim should be checkable by anyone, in seconds, for free. That sentence is the whole company — the rest of this page is who does the work.

Who we are

New program, old discipline

V-Cert is run by a certification team that has been doing this work since 2016 — reviewing formulations and supplier declarations, writing standards, issuing and maintaining certificates, and handling the unglamorous machinery of renewals, suspensions and complaints. Across our certification programs, that team has served 500+ facilities, from single-line startups to multi-site manufacturers.

V-Cert is our clean-label program: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, non-GMO and cruelty-free marks, issued through a remote desk review and backed by a certificate anyone can check. The program launched in 2026— we say that plainly, because a certification body that inflates its own history has no business verifying anyone else’s claims. The program is new; the craft is not.

Headquartered in New York. Certifying manufacturers worldwide — remote desk review in any time zone. Remote-first means the review examines your documents, formulations and supplier declarations — not your travel calendar. It is the honest reason the work takes days, not months.

V-Cert Inc. is a Patron — Lifetime member of the International Vegetarian Union, the international association of vegetarian and vegan societies, founded in 1908. IVU lists V-Cert on its patrons page.

IVU Certificate of Membership issued to V-Cert Inc., Patron — Lifetime Membership, signed by the Chair of the International Vegetarian Union.
The document

Example certificate

This one has not been issued to anyone. It is drawn from the same component that draws a real certificate, so it shows exactly the fields yours would carry: the certificate number, the holder, the mark, the standard it was reviewed against and the validity dates. The chip records the decision at issue — what a certificate is today is what a check of its number returns.

On an issued certificate the QR opens that certificate’s own record on the V-Cert verification portal. On this example it opens the portal’s entry form, where any certificate number can be typed in by hand.

What we believe

Three commitments, in writing

Honest scoping

If a desk review — or V-Cert itself — is not the right fit for your claim, your category or your buyer’s requirements, we say so at the quote stage, before you pay anything. A certification body that oversells its own scope has no business verifying anyone else’s claims.

Nothing a buyer has to take our word for

Every certificate we issue — including the ones we suspend or withdraw — is on the certificate portal from the day it is signed, open to anyone with the number. If we issued it, it is there.

No black boxes

What each mark requires is written out on its certification page, and the rules for granting, suspending and withdrawing certificates are published in full — there is nothing to take on faith.

Who reviews your file

V-Cert Certification Team

Every application is reviewed by a person, and every decision email is signed by this team. We publish the roles that touch your file rather than stock headshots — the accountability you can actually check is in what each mark requires, not in a portrait.

Lead reviewer — food & supplements

Reviews formulations, supplier declarations and label artwork for food, beverage and supplement scopes, and signs the certification decision for each file.

Cosmetics & personal care reviewer

Handles cosmetics scopes — vegan and cruelty-free claims, INCI ingredient review, and the supplier evidence trail behind each of them.

Certificates & client operations

Issues every certificate, suspension and withdrawal to the verification portal, and keeps quotes, checklists and renewal reminders moving on time.

Work with the team behind the marks

Your quote is scoped by a certification reviewer who has read your product list. The review — and the decision — belong to the team you just met.

Typical desk review: 5–10 business days from complete documentation.
