Every V-Cert certificate carries a number and a QR code, and both lead to the same place: the V-Cert certificate portal. Anyone can check a number there — a buyer, a compliance desk, a shopper. No account, no fee, no request to us.
This page checks the SHAPE of the number and opens the portal in a new tab. Whether a certificate exists, and what it covers, is the portal’s answer — never ours.
Have no number to type? Open the portal directly.

Four parts, separated by hyphens: CC-TT-MMYY-SSSS. A number that does not have this shape did not come from V-Cert.

The number above is reserved as an example and has never been issued.
The holder, the mark, the product scope the certificate covers, the standard it was reviewed against, the validity dates — and the status, which is the part a printed document can never keep up with.
An empty result is not an error message and it is not a verdict. It means the portal holds no certificate under that number — which happens when a digit is wrong, when the certificate was issued by a different body, or when the number was never issued at all.
Check the number against the document in front of you first. If it still returns nothing and the product carries a V-Cert mark, tell us: a mark on a product with no certificate behind it is exactly what this system exists to catch.
Email info@v-cert.org with the number and a photo of the mark, or report suspected misuse.
Suspension and withdrawal rules — who decides, on what evidence, and how a decision is appealed — are published in our governance.
