Report a suspected certificate or mark misuse
If a V-Cert mark appears on a product whose certificate you can't check — or a certificate is used beyond its scope, or after suspension — tell us. Reports go straight to the certification team, and every one is acknowledged within 2 business days. Certification only stays honest because people check it, so if something looked wrong to you, that is reason enough to write.
What to include
Send whatever you have — a partial report is better than none. The most useful details are:
- The certificate ID if one is shown, or a photo of the mark as printed on the product.
- The product name and brand.
- Where you saw it — a URL, a store location, or an attached photo.
- What looked wrong — a number that comes back empty when you check it, expired dates, a scope that doesn’t match the product.
- Your contact details if you're open to follow-up questions — optional; anonymous reports are reviewed too.

What happens next
- Your report is acknowledged within 2 business days by the V-Cert Certification Team.
- We check the number against our own issuance records and the certificate holder's file, and contact the holder where needed.
- If a certificate is suspended or withdrawn as a result, the change shows on the certificate portal — the record never quietly disappears.
Most reports come from careful shoppers, buyers doing their homework, and competitors keeping the field honest. All three are welcome — a mark that survives scrutiny is the only kind worth printing.
