What the review checks in a supplements file
Supplements fail vegan claims in the delivery system, not the active: gelatin capsules and softgels, lanolin-derived vitamin D3, fish-derived omega-3s, beeswax coatings. Questions specific to this file
Is vitamin D3 vegan?
Usually not — most D3 is derived from lanolin, which is animal-derived. Lichen-derived D3 exists and certifies cleanly; the supplier specification settles it. This is exactly the kind of ingredient the review traces to origin before any certificate is issued.
Can gelatin-capsule products be certified vegan?
Not with gelatin shells — but HPMC and pullulan capsules certify routinely. If you’re mid-switch, we can review the reformulated specification so certification lands with your production change rather than after it.
Does one certificate cover our whole catalog?
It covers the scope you define — and unlimited SKUs within it. Many supplement brands certify a product family at once; additions within scope during the year are included. Products outside the scope are quoted as a scope extension.
Can we add gluten-free and non-GMO to the same review?
Yes — that combination is common on supplement labels and shares most of the document set. The gluten-free certificate states the exact ppm threshold it was tested against, as every V-Cert gluten-free certificate does, by rule. Bundle mechanics are on the multi-mark page.
