Gluten-free certification for supplements
Starches, excipients and botanicals traced to source — with the exact threshold stated on the certificate.
Tell us what you make and a certification reviewer scopes your quote with you. · Typical desk review: 5–10 business days from complete documentation.

What the review checks in a supplements file
Gluten risk in supplements hides in excipients — wheat-derived starches, maltodextrin sources, botanical cross-contact at the ingredient broker. The V-Cert Gluten-Free Standard reviews specifications, supplier declarations and validated test reports remotely, and prints the exact threshold standard on the certificate — the line supplement buyers and pharmacists actually check.
Why V-Cert for supplements
Excipient-level review
Starch and maltodextrin sources, capsule shells and flow agents are traced through supplier specifications.
Threshold on the certificate
The exact threshold standard applied is stated on the face — never an implied claim.
Pairs with vegan and non-GMO
Supplement labels often carry all three claims; one review and one invoice can cover them.

Is maltodextrin gluten-free?
Usually — most maltodextrin is corn- or potato-derived, and even wheat-derived maltodextrin is typically processed below detectable gluten. But “usually” isn’t a certificate. The supplier specification states the source and the test data; the review verifies both before the claim goes on your label.
Do suppliers’ raw-material statements suffice?
They’re necessary but not sufficient — finished-product testing closes the gap. Broker-traded botanicals and shared blending lines add risk after the raw-material certificate. The standard asks for validated finished-product tests plus the supplier declarations, so the claim survives an audit of the file.
What threshold applies to supplements?
The same stated threshold as every V-Cert gluten-free certificate. Our standard applies Below 20 ppm gluten — the threshold applied to your products is recorded on your certificate. A buyer scans the QR code and the certificate comes back carrying that threshold — no ambiguity about what was verified.
How long does certification take?
Supplement files mostly turn on excipient specifications and current test reports. If those are current you’re at the fast end of the typical window stated on the gluten-free pillar; gaps are flagged and pause the clock rather than failing the file.
